Grafting and Plant Density Influence Tomato Production in Organic Farming System

چکیده
The tomato is a key crop cultivated worldwide for the fresh and processing markets. Only small percentage of tomatoes processed by industries were produced following guidelines organic farming system. Potential reasons limited share production are probably related to lower yield obtained in comparison with conventional farming. In this study, use cherry genotype ‘Tomito’ as rootstock two different plant densities (2.5 1.25 m−2) evaluated order improve agronomic performances commercial ‘H3402′ Agronomic quality parameters assessed at harvest time. density influenced biometric parameters, mass marketable yield, fruit health quality. improved per (more than 59%), decreasing number sunburnt fruits (−27.7%). 2.5 m−2 better choices achieve good optimal environmental conditions. However, further studies required validate these results both other environments using scions.

Grafting for Root-knot Nematode Control and Yield Improvement in Organic Heirloom Tomato Production
Organic heirloom tomatoes (Solanum lycopersicum L.) are difficult to grow in Florida as a result of root-knot nematodes (Meloidogyne spp.) (RKN) and hot, humid growing conditions. Although grafting with resistant rootstocks has been shown effective for RKN management in tomato production, little research has been conducted on grafted heirloom tomatoes under Florida conditions. In this 2-year st...

One of the goals of organic crop production is to grow species which combinetraditional pro-healthy properties, innovative cultivation practices and harmonywith the environment. Among the ancient species the spring spelt is especiallypredisposed for organic farming. In comparison with common wheat spring spelthas a relatively short research history on physiological analysis of growth anddevelop...
